The Chalfont St Peter Community Library hosts a number of regular activities including:
Bounce and Rhyme
Lucy and the Bounce and Rhyme toys are looking forward to seeing you Wednesday mornings at 10.30. Followed by a Duplo session at 11am. Drop by for this free session for the under fives at Chalfont St Peter Library. No need to book. Term time only.
Stitching Knitting and Nattering
Every Tuesday in upstairs meeting room from 10 am to 12 noon
MONDAY MOVIES
Films are shown on the last Monday in the month. Attendance is free of charge but a small donation is most welcome. Details and bookings are available in the library. The next film will be Rental Family on 30th November at 2 pm.
A Comedy Film. American actor Phillip Vanderploeg lives in Tokyo and constantly searches for work following his success in a toothpaste commercial seven years earlier. He is stuck taking minor roles until being hired by Rental Family, a company that provides actors to play stand-in family members and friends for strangers.
Mid-Month CLASSIC FILM
A classic film or family favourite will be shown on the second Monday of the month. Attendance is free of charge but a small donation is most welcome. Details and bookings are available in the library. The next films are on Monday 9th November.
On Moonlight Bay at 11 am
Loosely based on the Penrod tales by Booth Tarkington, Bay is a nostalgic, lovingly created look at small-town Americana, a world that might not have existed quite as it is depicted but a place we’d like to believe really was.
The Amazing Mr Blunden at 2 30 pm
The Amazing Mr Blunden is a British fantasy-mystery film (adapted from Antonia Barber’s 1969 novel The Ghosts) that follows a war-widowed mother and her children as they become entangled with time-traveling spirits and a mysterious solicitor.
Councillor Surgeries
Chalfont St Peter Parish Councillors regularly hold surgeries at the library to meet with local residents who have an issue that they can help with.
Celfunde
On the first Saturday morning of each month, from 10am until 1pm, the library hosts a ‘local history surgery’ open to anyone interested in the history and heritage of Chalfont St Peter. The Celfunde Inheritance, the village’s local history and heritage group will welcome you with a cuppa and biscuits, if you’d like to share your knowledge of the village’s history, or to learn more, or if you have anything you’d like us to research on your behalf. We are particularly interested in hearing your memories and scanning old photographs of the village for posterity.
