About the Library

In April 2011 Buckinghamshire County Council Cabinet decided to close the county library that existed in Chalfont St Peter and replace it with a county community partnership model of library delivery. With the support of the CSP Parish Council and a generous sponsorship from Fairweather Insurance, a group of local residents formed a charity called 'The Chalfont St Peter Community Library', to ensure that we could retain this valuable resource for our village.

Our new library is completely run by volunteers and governed by an elected management committee. Playing a part in the success of this Community library is The Friends of CSP Community Library, who fund our work with their annual subscriptions.
